So today we did our first mission op. It went well, took an hour or so for everyone to arrive and get ready for it and there was a bit of a lull later on but overall, good stuff. The lull was caused by a bad mission being accepted. It was a courier type mission and we were looking for more action against level 4 battlecruisers and the like. Fortunately, the next mission run was exactly that and we all regained some momentum and completed the mission as quick as possible.
It looks like I'm in charge of a squad so that means I'll be making sure everyone's cool with the tactics we're using, that morale is up, the schedule is good, etc. I'm thinking of getting everyone in the squad to use a frigate and have one or two support ships like battlecruisers or cruisers. Practicing tactics in frigates will help a lot and make them become much better pilots. Learning how to defend and support the bigger ships during an attack is really useful. Especially when everyone can figure out how to call out and engage targets as a squad instead of launching a haphazard kill-everything-in-sight attack which usually brings in way too many rats for us to fight off.
